Hexagon Games 2026 Launched with SBS–MORSA Partnership

PETALING JAYA, 30 July 2026 – Hexagon Games 2026, organised by the Malaysia Obstacle Race Sports Association (MORSA), was officially launched today, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia’s functional fitness landscape. The launch event also witnessed the signing of a Strategic Growth and Media Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SBS Nexus Berhad (KLSE: 0386) and MORSA, strengthening collaboration between sports, media and business to accelerate the growth and visibility of Hexagon Games 2026.

The official launch ceremony and press conference were held at Cars & Coffee, Hextar World Empire City, and were officiated by YB Tuan Mordi anak Bimol, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia.

Centred around Functional Fitness, Hexagon Games 2026 aims to encourage participation across all age groups and fitness levels through a series of monthly competitions culminating in a grand championship. By bringing competitive sports into commercial and community spaces, the event seeks to make functional fitness more accessible while promoting healthier lifestyles among Malaysians.

SBS Nexus Berhad and MORSA Sign Strategic Partnership

One of the key highlights of the launch was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SBS Nexus Berhad and MORSA.

Under the agreement, SBS Nexus Berhad has been appointed as the Strategic Growth and Media Partner for Hexagon Games. The partnership will focus on strategic growth initiatives, brand development, media engagement, marketing communications and public outreach to elevate the profile of the event.

As part of the collaboration, SBS Nexus Berhad will provide strategic growth planning, media support, promotional initiatives and publicity services, while all media-related execution will be carried out by its subsidiary, ShangHai Media Sdn Bhd.

The partnership reflects the growing convergence of sports, media and business, positioning Hexagon Games as more than just a sporting event. Through strategic communications and integrated marketing efforts, the collaboration aims to increase public awareness of functional fitness while creating greater value for sponsors, brand partners and the wider sporting community.

Bringing Functional Fitness into Everyday Life

A defining feature of Hexagon Games 2026 is its innovative mall-integrated competition concept at Hextar World Empire City.

Unlike conventional sporting events held in dedicated stadiums or sports complexes, Hexagon Games transforms a commercial lifestyle destination into an interactive sporting arena, allowing shoppers, families and the general public to experience competitive functional fitness up close.

This approach makes sports more visible, accessible and engaging, encouraging spectators to become active participants while strengthening community involvement in fitness and wellness.

In his keynote address, YB Tuan Mordi anak Bimol highlighted that Hexagon Games 2026 reflects the growing inclusivity of functional fitness by offering Beginner, Intermediate and Elite categories, ensuring participants of different abilities have opportunities to challenge themselves.

He emphasised that sport should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or background, enabling Malaysians to embrace healthier and more active lifestyles.

A Sustainable Development Pathway for Functional Fitness

Hexagon Games 2026 is designed as more than a standalone sporting event. It introduces a progressive competition pathway through a series of monthly events that allow participants to build experience and improve their performance before the Grand Finals.

The inaugural Hexagon Monthly Games will take place on 22 August 2026 at Hextar World Empire City, followed by activities integrated with Kejohanan Sukan Kecergasan Malaysia 2026 in September and Hari Sukan Negara (National Sports Day) 2026 in October.

The series will culminate with the Hexagon Games 2026 Grand, scheduled from 4 to 6 December 2026, featuring a large-scale mall-integrated functional fitness competition.

Beyond organising competitions, MORSA aims to establish a long-term development platform that nurtures grassroots participation, athlete development and sporting excellence.

Since its establishment in 2015, MORSA has played an instrumental role in developing obstacle sports across grassroots, amateur and professional levels while supporting the training of athletes, coaches and officials.

Through Hexagon Games, the association hopes to expand public participation in functional fitness and obstacle sports while discovering and developing the next generation of sporting talent.

Sports, Media and Business Unite to Build a New Ecosystem

With the signing of the strategic partnership between SBS Nexus Berhad and MORSA, Hexagon Games 2026 is set to connect sports, media, businesses and communities through a collaborative ecosystem.

As the event series progresses, Hexagon Games is expected to bring together stakeholders from sports, health, education, food and beverage, commercial industries and media, creating new opportunities for brands to engage with communities through sports marketing and experiential initiatives.

The collaboration also demonstrates how modern sporting events have evolved beyond competition alone. By integrating strategic communications, brand partnerships, commercial venues and community engagement, sports can become a powerful platform that connects businesses with the public while fostering healthier and more active communities.

As Hexagon Games 2026 embarks on its inaugural season, the partnership between SBS Nexus Berhad and MORSA represents a shared commitment to advancing functional fitness, strengthening community engagement and building a sustainable ecosystem for sports development in Malaysia.
