First Pre-IPO Series Talk Workshop Exploring “IPO vs M&A”

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 – ShangHai Business Media successfully hosted the first session of its “Pre-IPO Series Talk Workshop” at Sime Darby KL East Sales Gallery, with strong support from Sime Darby Property.

The inaugural session gathered founders, business leaders, and industry professionals to explore one of the most defining decisions for growth-stage businesses: IPO or M&A — which path creates greater long-term business value?

The forum featured Dato’ Dr. Ben Ng as the keynote speaker, alongside special guest Dato’ Roger Wong from KGW Logistics, who shared valuable insights from his real IPO journey and business growth experience.

During the session, Dato’ Dr. Ben Ng provided in-depth perspectives on capital strategies, strategic positioning, compliance considerations, and the practical realities businesses face when preparing for public markets. He highlighted the importance of aligning IPO or M&A decisions with a company’s long-term vision, growth stage, and market opportunities.

Dato’ Roger Wong further enriched the discussion by sharing first-hand experiences from leading KGW Logistics through its IPO journey, offering attendees practical insights into the challenges, preparation processes, and strategic thinking involved in building a publicly listed company.

Beyond the panel discussions and presentations, the forum also sparked meaningful conversations among entrepreneurs and business leaders on growth, expansion, and sustainable value creation, creating valuable networking opportunities for attendees from various industries.

Shanghai Business Media expressed its appreciation to all speakers, guests, and participants for making the event a meaningful and impactful session. Special thanks were also extended to Sime Darby Property for sponsoring the venue and supporting the success of the event, as well as RunningMen.My Catering for providing delightful refreshments and snacks throughout the afternoon.

The organiser shared that this marks only the beginning of the Pre-IPO Series Talk Workshop, with more upcoming sessions planned to continue supporting founders and businesses in their growth, capital strategy, and IPO journeys.
