Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – SBS Nexus Berhad (Stock Name: SBS and Stock Code: 0386), in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), is proud to announce the launch of the Cancer WIRA Program, an initiative designed to extend the impact of the Lung Shield Programme through corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, raising awareness of lung cancer prevention and early detection.
Supported by contributions from WIRA enterprises, the program will deploy 15 mobile screening trucks across Perak starting April 2026, offering free lung health screenings to low-income and vulnerable communities. Each mobile unit is equipped with portable X-ray devices and AI-assisted imaging analysis, enabling efficient and accessible screenings at community hubs, workplaces, and public events.
Participating companies will be recognized as WIRA Health Ambassadors, leaders in promoting the Lung Shield Initiative. Their contributions will be formally documented in the ShangHai Elite Entrepreneurs Book of Fame – Royal Edition, reflecting a sustained commitment to public health and corporate social responsibility. This enterprise-driven initiative strengthens community engagement while establishing a sustainable model for social impact, serving as a benchmark for nationwide public health advocacy.
The Lung Shield Programme integrates mobile screenings with micro-insurance solutions, ensuring high-risk individuals identified during screenings can access follow-up procedures, including low-dose CT scans, biopsies, and cancer staging, with reduced financial burden. The Cancer WIRA Program expands this reach, bringing professional and convenient lung cancer screening services directly to more communities.
This partnership demonstrates a cross-sector collaboration between corporations, non-profits, and government, leveraging ESG-oriented corporate involvement to advance health awareness and sustainable public health actions across Malaysia.
