Create the perfect Facebook Business Page for Your Brand

In 2020, Facebook Marketing is as necessary as breathing when it comes to marketing your business and getting brand recognition. According to an eMarketer study, 95.8% of social media marketers consider Facebook as an essential tool in reaching media marketing success.

Still not convinced? Then let us hear it from the master itself. According to Facebook.com, 2.5 billion people use Facebook every month to connect with friends and family and to discover things that matter.

Now that there are numbers to support how powerful Facebook Marketing can be, you might be excited to start marketing your business on Facebook. Getting your Facebook Page to rank high might take some work and time, but with the right techniques, your brand or business will be the talk of the town in a matter of days.

Before we get started on how you can be the next Facebook Marketing master, let us discuss on the first step you will need to get there – setting up the perfect Facebook Page for your business.

1. Set up a Business Page

Your Business Page on Facebook acts as your brand or product’s business profile to the public, so you need to get it right. Wondering what are the differences between a Personal Profile Page and a Business Page?  A Business Page will show specific information only applicable to businesses, organizations, and causes.

Note that you must create and manage Pages from your personal Facebook account; however, your personal information won’t appear on the Page unless you add it. Press “Get Started” and you will be automatically redirected to add a Profile Photo and Cover Photo for your new Page.

Here is a summary on the steps needed to create your page:

i.   Head to facebook.com/pages/create.
ii.  Choose your page type: Business/brand or Community/public figure
iii. Enter your business details.

2. Determine your Page’s Look and Feel

The fastest way to give your newly created Facebook Page a personality is to add in a profile picture. Want a tip on how to choose your profile picture? Choose one that represents your brand or business perfectly, as this is the primary image that will pop up for your target when they search for your brand.

To ensure that your picture is of high quality, be sure to increase it slightly more than the average 180 x 180 pixels. Note that if your picture is not squared, you might have to crop it before uploading it as your profile picture.

Once this is done, your next step is to add a cover photo. A cover photo is the large, horizontal image that spans the top of your Page and should be a picture that represents your Page’s identity. It can also be pictures of special offerings or campaigns that you are currently running and would like to promote.

Not too sure what picture is best to represent your brand? Check out these tips below:

i.  Product or Services: choose a recognisable logo to distinguish your brand from others.
ii. Speaker or Public Figure:  choose the most suitable headshot that represents you best.

3. Set up a Page info

Your page is now almost complete! Your next step now is to let your target audience and the public know on what your business or brand is about and what you will be offering them. To do this, click “Add a Short Description” under “Welcome to Your New Page”. Add one to two sentences that best describe your business. Be sure not to exit more than 255 characters.

Your page info will appear on your page and in search results to the public, but this is no reason to be apprehensive about it. Have fun with this process and be sure to let your brand or business’s personality shine through.

Here is a summary on the steps needed to create your page info:

i.   Click “Edit Page Info” to start
ii.  Description: Add in not more than 255 characters to describe who you are and what you are offering.
iii. Contact information: Let the public know how they can reach you, this includes websites and other social media accounts.
iv. Extra options: Add in your operating hours, price range or even privacy policy if it is relevant for your page.

4. Create your Facebook username

You are now facing the last step in creating your Business Page! The last thing you will need to complete in the welcome menu is to create a username for your new Page. This will appear in your Facebook URL and will in turn help the public to search and remember your brand or business.

With the freedom to choose a username up to 50 characters long, you are free to let your creativity run wild with creating a username. Just be sure that it depicts what your brand is all about.

Here are some ideas on how to create a username for your Facebook Page:

i.  Choose a search-friendly Page name. In most cases, this will be your brand name.
ii. If possible, use a consistent username across social networks.

5. Custom a call-to-action Button

A call-to-action button allows your target audiences to take a desirable action when they come to your page — be it to purchase your product, drop an inquiry or even to sign up to your newsletter — all done to increase the engagement of your page.

From December 2014 onwards, Facebook had given Pages the access to include a call-to-action button at the top of the Page. To create your very own call-to-action button, simply click “+ Add a Button” below your cover photo. From ‘download an app’ to ‘learn more’, there will be multiple choices for you to choose from.

Now that you have completed all the steps, your Facebook Page is all set! Following these 5 steps ensures that you will have a seamless process of creating a Business Page on Facebook. Your next big step once your Page is all set up is to start marketing your brand or business and to get them recognised by the public.
